You’ve heard the word a hundred times this year. AI. Artificial intelligence. The thing that’s apparently changing everything.
Maybe you’ve tried ChatGPT once and weren’t quite sure what to do with it. Maybe your workplace has started mentioning it in meetings and you’ve nodded along. Maybe you’re curious — but every time you look it up, the explanations seem to be written for people who already understand it.
You’re not behind. You’re exactly the person this course was built for.
Only 21% of UK workers feel confident using AI at work, according to the UK Government’s Skills England research despite AI skills growing in demand by 35% every year. The gap isn’t intelligence. It’s access to the right starting point. That’s what AI in Plain English is.

What You’ll Walk Away With
By the end of the day, you won’t just know about AI you’ll be using it. Here’s what you’ll leave with:
Real confidence using AI tools
You’ll have used ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini hands-on during the day — not just watched a demo, but actually typed prompts and seen results for tasks relevant to your own life.
The RCTF prompt formula
A simple, memorable framework for writing prompts that actually work — so you get useful answers instead of vague responses.
Knowledge of what to trust and what to check
You’ll understand AI hallucinations, fact-checking, privacy, and the things AI should never be asked to replace — so you use it wisely, not blindly.
A curated AI toolkit matched to your life
Not a list of every AI tool that exists — a practical, curated selection matched to your professional context and personal goals, so you know exactly where to start.
A personalised 30-day learning plan + CPD certificate
A daily habit plan to keep building after the course — plus 7 hours of structured CPD, recognised across health, education, finance, HR, and dozens of other professional bodies.

AI Feels Complicated.
It Doesn’t Have to Be.
AI in Plain English is a practical, CPD-aligned one-day live course for everyday adults who want to understand AI and actually start using it with confidence.
“The best AI creative output almost always comes from people who have a strong vision and use AI as a tool to realise it faster. The taste, the direction, the intention — that’s still human.”

Not for Techies. Not for Businesses. For You.
Most AI courses are built for developers, data scientists, or large organisations with technical teams. AI in Plain English is built for everyone else — and that makes it different in four specific ways:
🗣️
Plain language throughout
Every concept is introduced from first principles and explained without jargon. Anything technical is unpacked clearly — so you never feel left behind.
🎯
Hands-on from hour one
You’ll be using AI tools during the course itself — not just watching. Live activities in four of the six sessions mean you leave with genuine skills, not just notes.
🇬🇧
Built for UK contexts
Every example, case study, and professional context is grounded in UK life — from NHS documentation to UK business admin to everyday British scenarios.
👥
Small group, live interaction
With a maximum of 20 participants, you’ll get real time to ask questions, share reactions, and learn alongside people in similar situations — not disappear into a pre-recorded video library.
CPD Recognition
This course delivers 7 hours of structured CPD, designed in alignment with the standards of the CPD Certification Service (UK). Your certificate can be recorded in your CPD log and is applicable across a wide range of professional bodies including:
NMC · HCPC · Social Work England · CIPD · ICAEW · ACCA · Law Society · Chartered College of Teaching · BCS · CMI · Institute of Directors · and many more
Common Questions
Do I need any technical knowledge?
None at all. The course starts from absolute scratch and explains everything clearly. If you can use a web browser, you’re ready. Facilitators will even help you set up a free AI account at the start of the day if you don’t have one.
What do I need to join?
A laptop, desktop computer, or tablet with an internet connection, and a free Zoom account. A phone screen is too small for a comfortable experience. Everything else — tools, resources, and frameworks — is provided.
How do I get my CPD certificate?
Certificates are issued to participants who attend at least 80% of the day, complete six short knowledge checks (each 10 questions, 70% pass mark, unlimited attempts), and submit a brief 300-word reflective piece within seven days of the course. Those who attend without completing the assessment receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Is this relevant to my profession?
Yes. Session 3 — AI for Your Life and Work — covers use cases across healthcare, education, small business, administration, and more. The prompting skills and critical thinking frameworks you learn apply across every professional context.
Why is the cohort limited to 20 people?
To keep the experience genuinely interactive. With 20 participants, there’s real time for questions, live activities, discussion, and peer sharing — rather than a lecture you watch passively.

AI isn’t going to slow down. But it also doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right starting point — plain language, live guidance, and real hands-on practice — one day is enough to go from curious to genuinely confident.
AI in Plain English is that starting point.
